The Office of Agricultural Economics Region 5 (OAE 5) monitored the Surin Wagyu Beef Production and Marketing Development Project to enhance the competitiveness of farmers from December 15-19, 2024. Mrs. Sujaree Phicha, Director of OAE 5, assigned Mrs. Monthira Sainoi, Director of the Research and Evaluation Section, along with staff from the section, to collaborate with Dr. Apichai Nakeesang, Veterinarian of Surin Province, and Mr. Supin Nongman, Head of the Livestock Promotion and Development Group, in monitoring the development of the Surin Wagyu Beef production and marketing system. This initiative aims to increase the competitiveness of farmers in the first quarter of the 2025 fiscal year. The monitoring took place at the Surin Kobe Beef Community Enterprise Group in Salakdai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Surin Province. Activities included interviews with farmers and livestock officers at the Surin Provincial Livestock Office to follow up on the current cattle farming and sales situation, as well as to gather feedback on challenges, obstacles, and suggestions for future cattle farming.
